Puppies are very cute but they are a lot of work. This is a long-term commitment that you must be prepared for ahead of your purchase. Your puppy is going to depend on you for care, love, training, and, of course, feeding. You are taking on a great responsibility of raising another living animal and this is not something you should take lightly. Playtime is just as important as potty training and all of these things must be done with patience, kindness, and generosity. Your puppy doesn't know any better, you have to teach him or her right from wrong and make a promise to raise the puppy into a well-rounded, fully mature dog.
If you are unsure or unable to dedicate the proper amount of time and dedication to loving and caring for your new puppy, maybe a puppy is not right for you. However, if you are ready to make that commitment, we would love to see you visit our New York City location.
Routine consistency is the secret to potty training your puppy. You need to be patient, there will be some trial and error and some messes you will need to clean up. But the more you work at it and use positive reinforcement to get the puppy to do what you want, in this case using the bathroom outdoors, you will soon find your puppy behaving exactly as you wish.
We do strongly recommend that you use some housebreaking pads for introducing the idea of going to the bathroom in one specific place instead of all over the house. As you progress, set a schedule where you take your puppy for a walk in the morning, the afternoon, and the evening, so the pup starts to comprehend that outdoors is where bathroom breaks take place.
Our select group of breeders have been breeding dogs in a familiar home environment for ten years or more. This helps to keep the puppies well-socialized and maintain a positive, easy going temperament.
Yes, we make sure every one of our breeders is registered with USDA.
When buying a puppy make sure you are dealing with a reputable retailer who monitors the health and well being of their puppies from the moment they are born. That means working with trustworthy breeders, routine veterinary visits, and maintaining valid licensing and certification with a state health department. Ask if the puppies are given a vitamin regimen and nutritious food and always be sure the breeders have been doing this type of work for a long period of time.
