Maltese are small dogs that adapt well to many different environments, but also require time and commitment. While Maltese puppies are incredibly cute and fun, they do require a higher level of care for the first few months. Like a human baby, they shouldn’t be left alone. They need consistent attention, potty training, obedience training, and require daily brushing once they hit maturity.
Knowing this in advance will allow you to be prepared and ensure both you and your new Maltese puppy have the best experience possible.
To successfully potty-train your Maltese puppy, it is crucial to maintain patience and consistency. It takes time to teach them where to go—whether on a pad or outside—and redirection is always more effective than punishment. Show them where to use the bathroom every single day. This could mean taking them outside in the morning, at lunchtime, and in the evening. The most crucial element is consistency. With practice and time, your Maltese puppy will learn.
Our Maltese puppies are bred within private homes by a group of experienced breeders. This results in well-socialized dogs with a healthy temperament.
You can take your Maltese puppy home with you once they reach at least 8 weeks of age. This gives us time for proper vet checkups and gives them time for proper socialization.
